The National Energy Administration has approved two coal mine projects in northwestern China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, aiming at enhancing coal supply capability in the country's fourth-largest coal base, Xinjiang Daily reported lately.
The two projects have a combined capacity at 2.7 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa).
The No. 12 coal mine, located in Kebuer mining area in Turpan city, will build a large-scale modern mine with a planned capacity of 1.5 Mtpa and a supporting coal washing plant. The total investment would be 1.782 billion yuan.
The Kadaxi No. 1 coal mine, located in the Yangxia mining area in Luntai county, has a planned capacity of 1.2 Mtpa, with a total investment of 1.833 billion yuan.
