Russia's seaborne coal exports fell 13.30% month on month to 11.63 million tonnes in October 2023, marking the third straight month of decline, according to Kpler's cargo-tracking data.
The volume was also 28.97% lower compared with the same month in the preceding year, data showed.
Shipments to the top destination China's mainland stood at 4.39 million tonnes in October, down 8.96% month on month and 32.74% year on year, representing 38% of the country's total seaborne exports.
Exports to South Korea came in at 1.46 million tonnes, down 22.31% from the month-ago level and slumping 42.54% from a year ago. Shipments to Turkey were registered at 1.29 million tonnes, down 39.80% and 49.90% respectively compared with the month-ago and the year-ago levels.
Over January-October, Russia's total seaborne coal exports reached 146.77 million tonnes, up 1.75% year on year, and that to China climbed 32.06% on the year to 61.09 million tonnes, a share of 42%.
