Kazakhstan decides to extend its ban on coal exports by road for another 6 months, effective from November 26, AKIpress News Agency reported, citing the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the country.
The move aims to avoid coal supply shortage during the heating season in the winter.

In March 2023, Kazakhstan banned exports of hard coal, briquettes made from hard coal, coal powder and lignite by road for six months, in a bid to secure domestic demand.
Kazakhstan produced 113.9 million tonnes of coal in 2022, rising 1.9% compared with a year ago, according to data from the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development.
It exported 32.50 million tonnes of coal during 2022.
