Daqin Railway, a vital coal transport line in China, concluded its autumn maintenance on October 19, four days earlier than originally planned and nine days less than the previous autumn maintenance period.
China's railway authorities adhere to a crucial yearly maintenance schedule for the coal corridor each autumn following intense operations during the summer. This practice is implemented to ensure transport safety and maintain a consistent supply during the upcoming winter heating season.
Starting on October 4, China Railway Taiyuan Group (CR Taiyuan), the operator of Daqin Railway, coordinated repair and material replacement activities, allotting three hours per day to maintenance efforts.
The primary objective was to strike a balance between maintenance requirements and the unimpeded flow of coal shipments, ensuring that daily shipments consistently surpassed 1 million tonnes. This achievement substantially contributed to the accumulation of more than 22 million tonnes of coal at terminal ports.
CR Taiyuan confirmed Daqin Railway's daily shipment operations will promptly revert to their standard levels after the maintenance, surpassing 1.2 million tonnes per day.
During January-September, Daqin shipped 315.24 million tonnes of coal in total.
