China Coal Energy Co., Ltd, the listed arm of China National Coal Group, imported a total of 89.68 million tonnes of coal during ten years since President Xi Jinping first proposed the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
The company exported 19.42 million tonnes during the period, it said on the meeting celebrating ten years of BRI.
The all-encompassing coal business lines have played an important role in ensuring domestic energy safety and stability, and injected its own efforts in upgrading energy mix.
The group has exported nearly 2,200 high-end coal machines to Russia, Kazakhstan, Bangladesh and Vietnam, with value nearing 2.2 billion yuan ($293.33 million).
The group tried hard to expand exports of metallurgical coal to southeastern Asia and its ties with Russia, Mongolia and Indonesia.
