China Coal Energy Co., Ltd, the listed arm of China National Coal Group, produced 10.91 million tonnes of commercial coal in September, down 2.6% or 290,000 tonnes from the preceding year, said the company in a statement released on October 16.

The September output was 7.1% or 830,000 tonnes lower than a month ago, according to the statement.

The company's commercial coal sales fell 7.5% year on year and 14.4% or 3.48 million tonnes month on month to 20.77 million tonnes last month.

Sales of self-produced coal decreased 7.4% from a year earlier and 15.7% from the preceding month to 10.51 million tonnes.

The company's commercial coal production reached 101.17 million tonnes in the first nine months of 2023, up 10% on the year; sales stood at 214.8 million tonnes, rising 5.1% compared to the same period last year.
