Coal exports from Colombia in September snapped a consecutive drop for three months and realized a month-on-month jump, official statistical data showed.
The country exported 5.65 million tonnes of coal in the month, down 12.49% on the year but up 37.1% month on month, according to the National Department Administrative of Statistics.
Comparatively, coal exports in September 2022 were 5.65 million tonnes, while the export volume for August this year was 3.61 million tonnes.
Total coal exports in the month amounted to $658 million, down 47.21% year on year but up 36.01% on the month.
The average coal export price was calculated at $133.03/t, indicating a decline of 39.68% compared to the previous year and a decrease of 0.79% from the previous month.
During January-September 2023, Colombia's coal exports totaled 41.6 million tonnes, a 9.81% decrease from 46.22 million tonnes a year earlier. The export value reached $6.95 billion, 23.54% lower than the preceding year.
