Daily crude steel production at key member firms of China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) stood at 2.07 million tonnes during September 21-30, falling 3.15% compared with the previous ten days, the CISA data showed.
Daily output of pig iron averaged 1.89 million tonnes during the same period, down 3.31% from ten days ago. Daily output of finished steel rose 5.21% from ten days ago to 2.22 million tonnes.
Nationwide, daily output of crude steel was estimated to decrease 3.12% from ten days ago to 2.69 million tonnes. The daily pig iron production is anticipated to be 2.34 million tonnes, down 4.25% compared to ten days earlier, and daily finished steel output at 3.54 million tonnes, down 0.82%.
As of September 30, CISA key member steel mills held 15.25 million tonnes of finished steel in stock, 3.24% or 510,000 tonnes lower than in mid-September yet up 3.55% or 522,300 tonnes compared with the same period in August. The volume was 4% or 0.64 million tonnes lower than the same period in the preceding year, data showed.
